Two organizations work to offer a ‘coach of the year award’ and coaching education grants

 

DECATUR, GA  (June 26, 2017) – The National Youth Track Coaches Association President and Amateur Athletic Union Track & Field National Chair met in Atlanta to discuss the Youth Coaches of Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) joining the National Youth Track Coaches Association (NYTCA).



Both agreed that the youth coaches of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) joining the National Youth Track Coaches Association (NYTCA) would be a great opportunity for both organizations to work together in serving the youth and coaches in the United States.



“I think this is a great opportunity for both organizations to partner and serve the youth and coaches in the United States,” said Ron Williams, President of the National Youth Track Coaches Association.  “I want to thank Charles Oliver, AAU Track & Field National Chair for having the vision to see the benefits for this partnership for our coaches and youth athletes.”



In 2018, NYTCA will sponsor a coach of year award and AAU coaches will be eligible for coaching education grants to assist coaches in an opportunity to enhance their professional growth. 



“AAU is very excited to join forces with the members of the National Youth Track Coaches Association,“ said Charles Oliver, AAU Track and Field National Chair. “This alliance will strengthen the ability of both groups to further the development of Track & Field in the United States.”

The National Youth Track Coaches Association (NYTCA) act as the representative of the coaches of youth athletes for USA Track & Field. Developing interest and participation in the coaching of Athletics in the United States at the youth level; Promoting Youth Athletics and athletes by promoting outstanding technical and ethical coaching, and by cooperating with and encouraging other organizations which promote the coaching of youth athletes; and Generating public awareness, appreciation, and support for Youth Athletics, USATF, and thus creating opportunities for athletes and coaches in youth.
