ORLANDO, Fla. – Thomas Hill, an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) volunteer and former professional football player, has assumed the role of AAU Flag Football and 7v7 Football West Coast Director.

"The AAU Football Program is very proud to announce former Green Bay Packer Thomas Hill to run the AAU West Coast Flag and 7v7 Football programs,” said AAU National Football Chair Keith Noll. " Hill will also host the AAU National Flag and 7v7 Championships in the West".

An extremely successful student athlete who served as a captain on Kansas State University’s 2003 Big-12 championship squad, Hill went on to sign with the Green Bay Packers as a free agent in 2004. An ankle injury ended his playing career in 2005, but since hanging up the cleats, Hill has gone on to enjoy a fulfilling professional career in multiple industries.

“As the West Coast Football Director, I plan to spearhead the growth of AAU football athletes while keeping the integrity and mission of the AAU at the forefront,” said Hill. “I want to capture the attention of younger football players and introduce them to the flag football world, so they can better understand and develop in the game of football.”

After founding The UNIT Athletics as an outlet for young athletes in his community, including his football-playing twin sons, Torrin and Titus, Hill has worked tirelessly to advance AAU Football as a springboard for athletes to have an opportunity to play at the next level. His goal is to build AAU Football events into recruiting hubs for college coaches to observe and interact with young athletes.

“Since 1888, the AAU has run amateur athletics events across the United States,” said Dr. Roger J. Goudy, AAU President & CEO. “These events provide valuable participation opportunities to the youth of America each year.  These experiences are key to positive mental, emotional, and physical development in today’s youth and would not be possible without the efforts of event operators such as Thomas Hill in running these sport programs.”
